Module 1: The Personal Anima and Animus
During this module we explore Jung’s classic version of Anima and Animus, as he identified in his practice. We will look at the concepts of the internal other, as well as how Jung placed working with the Anima and Animus in the individuation process. It is important to understand that Anima and Animus is rooted both in the individual consciousness and the collective unconscious, and therefore function as bridges between the personal and the impersonal, the conscious and unconscious. This module explores our personal Anima and Animus imagoes, and how that affects our relatedness to the other.
As mentioned in the introduction, the focus of this course is the Applications. Please get yourself a journal to capture your process work. The applications shared in this module can be worked through over the next two weeks.

This module explores the Anima and Animus as collective archetypes. We also explore the Post-Jungian approach to Anima and Animus. As modern western society is not as clear cut in terms of gender identification, what does the Anima and Animus theory looks like in terms of gender, sexuality and psychic realities. The practical application will focus on the archetypal qualities of the Anima and Animus and how that lives within us.
